Simply Sno-Cones was started in 2013 by two young Stratford residents, including Elliott Fraser, at the age of 11 as a “Jeunes millionnaires” program summer business, where kids start a business of their own to learn about entrepreneurship. They specialize in events, festivals, and birthday parties, and have added fresh-squeezed lemonade, under the Simply Squeez’d name, to their product suite. The business is  now going into year six, with Ellen Fraser joining the team, and Erin Fraser helping out too. All three are fully bilingual, and the business is health-department certified, with Elliott, Ellen, and their mother having their Food Safety certificates. Their parents help with booking events, transportation, cleaning, and setup.

They produce their shaved ice snow cones from PEI-made ice cubes using a high-end ice shaver which runs on a boat battery, giving them the ability to set up anywhere, and squeeze their lemonade with a commercial manual juicer. They have a 10×10 foot “easy up” tent to protect them from the elements, and sell two products – an eight-ounce snow cone in a foam cup for $3, and a 16 oz. glass of lemonade for $3.50. They can process long lines quickly as their ice shaver can produce a snow cone in about 3 seconds, which they then hand to the customer to add the syrup themselves, from their very popular custom-built self-serve dispenser. Their customers can choose from eight regular and two sugar-free flavours, and can add several flavours. plus a sour spray (if they want) at the same time at no additional charge.
